Tapalaluna
The downtown building was formerly a jewelry shop and had previously been stripped to the early 1900 brick walls and open rafters on the ceiling. First, Upscale added the mechanicals necessary to accommodate a full service restaurant. Then, the original brick walls were sealed and the 12 foot high ceiling was left open but painted black to become invisible. The bar was constructed of a polished metal front with orchestrated swirls throughout to reflect the rooms lighting. The bar top is a unique blend of concrete and crushed blue vodka bottles, a perfect setting for engaging customers in vibrant conversation. Comfortable booths were situated along the entire length of the restaurant with soft pendant lighting over each table. The focal point of the restaurant is a 4 foot round, backlit surreal moonscape hanging over the back bar, flanked by shelving, staging the colorful array of available liquors.
